Messy action vs perfect execution

When I look back at the things that moved the needle most and allowed me to create a successful coaching business, and now a software business that helps over 1000 coaches, it comes down to leaning into messy action.

Here is what I mean.

Perfect is a waiting room

If you are anything like me, you probably like things done a certain way. Neat, clean, and as close to perfect as possible.

That is fine in your home. It might even be fine when you already know exactly what you are doing.

But if you want to change your life and achieve something you have never achieved before, there is no way to get it 100 percent right from the start.

Which means if you wait for perfect, you will be waiting a long time.

• Your website does not need to be perfect
• Your social post does not need to be perfect
• You do not need to have everything figured out

In business, and in much of life, done is better than perfect.

Practice being uncomfortable

I am always coaching my clients to step out of their comfort zones, because that is where the biggest growth happens.

Just the other day I went on Instagram live, something I do often. But this time I did it with no makeup on. It was so uncomfortable.

Why did I do it? To remind myself that it is safe to do scary things.

So if you are struggling to get traction and you find yourself overthinking, worrying, and stressing, get out there and take messy action.
