1:1 Services: Offer Multiple Session Durations in a Single Session Package

You can now build a paid 1:1 session package that includes different session lengths inside the same package.

For example, instead of selling a package where all 5 sessions are the same length, you can create a package like this:

• 1 x 90-minute kickoff session
• 3 x 60-minute follow-up sessions
• 1 x 30-minute wrap-up session

This is useful when your client journey is structured and each session has a specific purpose.

What this feature does

This feature lets coaches:

• assign a different duration to each session in a package
• reorder sessions inside the package
• add or remove sessions while configuring the package
• show clients exactly what is included before and after purchase

Clients do not choose the duration themselves for package sessions. The coach pre-defines the duration for each session, and the client books against that setup.

Important distinction

Cohere already supports multiple durations within a single 1:1 service. That means you can select several durations in Step 3: Sessions and use them across pricing types such as Pay Per Session.

This article specifically covers the newer package behavior: a single session package can now include a mix of those durations.

Before you start

Before setting up a mixed-duration package, make sure you have already added every session duration you want to use in Step 3: Sessions.

Only the durations selected in Step 3 will be available later when you customize the package.

How to set up a package with multiple session durations

Step 1: Turn on Session Packages in Step 4

Go to Step 4: Pricing and enable Session Packages.

From here, enter:

• your package name, if needed
• the number of sessions in the package
• the package price

You will also see the regular Session Duration dropdown and a new checkbox:

Enable Multiple Session Durations

When this checkbox is off:

• the package behaves like a standard single-duration package
• one duration applies to every session in the package

When this checkbox is on:

• you can assign a different duration to each session in the package
• the package duration field will later switch to a summary view after you save your setup

Step 2: Click Customize Session Durations

After enabling multiple session durations, click Customize Session Durations to open the Session Duration Settings window.

Inside this window, you will see one row for each session in the package.

For each row, you can:

• choose an assigned duration from the Step 3 duration list
• drag and reorder sessions
• delete a session
• add another session using Add new Session

This takes you back to Step 3: Sessions, where you can add more duration options if the one you need is not currently available.

What happens when you first open the settings window

When multiple session durations are enabled for the first time, all sessions will initially default to the duration selected in the main Session Duration field.

You can then change each row individually.

What Add new Session does

The Add new Session button inside the settings window adds a new session row to the package.

That new session:

• becomes part of the package
• increases the package session count
• can be assigned any duration that exists in Step 3

This means you can grow the package directly from the settings window instead of leaving the modal first.

What happens when you delete a session

If you delete a session row:

• that session is removed from the package
• the total session count is reduced
• the remaining sessions keep their assigned durations

At least one session must remain in the package, so the final remaining session cannot be deleted.

What happens if you cancel

If you close the window or cancel without saving:

• your new edits are not applied
• the existing package setup stays the same

What happens after you save

Once you click Save, the package switches from a single duration dropdown to a read-only summary.

Example:

Includes: 1 x 30 min, 2 x 1 hour, 2 x 2 hours, 1 x 3 hours

An Edit Session Durations button also appears so you can reopen the settings window later.

This summary is used across the experience:

• in the coach pricing UI
• in the payment summary
• on the client-facing package card or package details

What clients see

When a client views and purchases the package:

• they can see that the package contains multiple session durations
• the package breakdown is reflected in the client-facing experience
• after purchase, each package session appears separately in the client dashboard

Each session row includes a button labeled with the assigned duration, such as:

• Book 30-minute Session
• Book 1-hour Session
• Book 90-minute Session

If two or more sessions share the same duration, they still appear as separate rows.

What happens when a client books

When the client clicks a package booking button:

• the booking modal opens with the correct duration pre-selected
• the client cannot change the duration
• the client can only choose the date and time

This helps prevent mistakes and keeps the package structure clear.

Rescheduling behavior

If the client is rescheduling from a flow where they pick another time, the duration remains fixed to the original scheduled duration. They can change the time, but not the duration.

Coach-side scheduling behavior

Coaches can also schedule these sessions from their own dashboard using Invite and Schedule and Schedule Client.

A coach can choose the duration they want to schedule from the durations available in Step 3.

This is helpful for cases like:

• booking a longer kickoff session first
• scheduling on behalf of the client
• using an allowed duration override for a specific booking

Important note about coach overrides

If a coach manually schedules a duration that is different from the package session the system consumes next, that does not change the package setup.

The override only affects that specific booking. It does not rewrite the package's original duration breakdown.

How session credits are consumed

Even though the client sees individual session rows, Cohere still consumes package credits using the next unused session in the package order.

That means the system tracks session usage in the order defined in the package, even if a coach schedules a different allowed duration using an override.

Example

Package order:

• Session 1 -> 30 min
• Session 2 -> 60 min
• Session 3 -> 90 min

If Session 1 has already been used and the coach manually schedules a 90-minute session next, the system still consumes Session 2, because it is the next unused session in the package order.

Editing existing services

If no client has purchased the package yet

The coach can still:

• change the number of sessions
• change the assigned duration for each session
• reorder sessions
• add sessions
• delete sessions within the package rules
• add new durations in Step 3

If one or more clients have already purchased the package

The existing sessions and their assigned durations are effectively locked for the purchased package.

The coach can still:

• add new durations in Step 3 for future use
• create new packages or new payment pages
• add future options without breaking existing purchased credits

If a duration is already being used by a live package, it may appear disabled in Step 3 so it cannot be removed.

Can clients choose a different duration when booking a package session?

No. The package session duration is fixed by the coach.

Where do the duration options in the package settings come from?

They come from Step 3: Sessions.

Can I add more durations later?

Yes. Use the helper link inside Session Duration Settings to go back to Step 3 and add more durations.

Can I add more sessions from the settings window itself?

Does this feature apply to free 1:1 sessions?

This mixed-duration package setup is designed for paid 1:1 session packages. Free-session flows continue to follow their own existing behavior.
