How to Create a Lead Magnet

Lead magnets are one of the most effective ways to grow your email list. With Cohere, you can easily create a lead magnet that offers your audience free content—like videos, audio, PDFs, e-books, or quizzes (coming soon)!

In just 4 steps, you’ll have a professional opt-in page with a shareable link ready to go.
 

Step 1: Add Basic Information

1. From your dashboard, click Create, then select Lead Magnet from the dropdown menu.

2. Enter the following details:

   • Title – Choose a compelling title that grabs attention.

   • Tagline – Write a short, appealing summary of your offer.

   • Type – Select the format of your lead magnet:

     • PDF

     • Video/Audio

     • Quiz (coming soon!)

3. Upload an engaging image for your landing page. This is the first impression visitors will see.

4. Click Save & Next to continue.

Step 2: Add Lead Magnet Details

Here you’ll add the content that tells your audience what your lead magnet is all about.

1. Why this was created – Briefly explain the purpose of your lead magnet.

2. Who is this for? – Identify your target audience.

3. What to expect – Highlight key benefits and what they’ll receive.

4. Additional information – Add testimonials, tips, or extra notes if needed.

5. Social media links – (Optional) Share your profiles to increase engagement.

6. Branding colors – Keep your branding consistent by customizing page colors.

7. Click Save & Next to move forward.

Step 3: Add Content & Customize the Thank You Page

This is where your leads land after signing up—and where they’ll access your content.

💡 Tip: Click the “Example” button in the top-right corner to preview how it looks.

Customize the Thank You Page

1. Banner – Upload an image (1280×720px recommended) or a video (16:9 format, max 200MB).

2. Header – Add a strong headline for your page.

3. Description – Write a short, inviting message to encourage people to access the content.

4. CTA button – Add button text and a link (this will guide them to the lead magnet).

Optional: Add an Extra Call to Action

• Switch on the toggle to enable.

• Add a banner, header, and description, just like above.

• Create a custom button that links to a URL or another Cohere service you’ve set up.

Upload Your Lead Magnet Content

1. Upload your files (video, audio, PDF, or e-book). Max file size: 3GB.

   • Drag and drop files, or click + to upload.

   • You can also embed a video link.

2. Add a Content Header—this appears above your content.

3. Preview your page by clicking Client Preview, then click Save & Next.

Step 4: Review & Submit

You’re almost done!

• Review all your details and design.

• When ready, check the I agree to the Terms of Service box.

• Click Submit to make your lead magnet live.

✅ You’ll instantly get a preview link to share with your audience.

👉 Not ready yet? Click Save & Exit to save your progress as a draft. (Note: You can edit everything later except for the lead magnet type.)

✨ That’s it—you’ve created your lead magnet! Time to start sharing your link and growing your list.
