How to Approve or Reject Community Posts in Your Communities

Updated 9/5/2026

For certain communities, it may be helpful to review posts before they go live to maintain a safe, supportive, and on-topic environment.
Cohere now allows creators to require admin approval for community posts before they’re published.

When this setting is enabled, you’ll receive an email notification each time a client submits a post. You can then approve or reject the post directly.

  • Once approved, the post goes live immediately.

  • The client will also receive an email notification when their post is published.

This feature is off by default, giving you full control over when and how to use it.

How to Enable and Manage Post Approvals

Step 1: Go to the Community Settings

From your service’s Community section, click the Settings icon next to the main community.

Step 2: Enable Admin Approval

A pop-up window will appear.
Turn on the toggle button labeled Admin Approval for Client Posts to enable this feature.

Once enabled:

  • You’ll receive email notifications when new posts are submitted.

  • You can approve or reject posts directly from the email.

  • Approved posts will be published immediately and visible to all community members.

🎉 That’s it! You now have greater control over the quality and timing of content shared in your community.
