How to Create a Text-Based Self-Paced Content
Updated 9/5/2026
Cohere allows creators to build text-based self-paced content for Group Courses, Communities, Memberships, and Workshops.
Previously, self-paced modules supported only videos, audio, and uploaded documents with simple text descriptions — now, you can create and edit rich text content directly within the Cohere platform.
This update gives you greater flexibility to share written lessons, reflections, and learning materials — all viewable through Cohere’s upgraded document viewer on both web and mobile.
This guide walks you through how to create text-based self-paced content for your clients.
How to Create Text-Based Self-Paced Content
Step 1: Create a New Self-Paced Module
In Step 3: Sessions while creating or editing a service, click Create New Self-Paced Content to start a new module.

Step 2: Select “Text” as Your Content Type
Choose Text as your content type.
You’ll see a text editor box on the left side where you can write and format your content.
Use the toolbar at the top of the editor to customize your text:
-
Change font color
-
Add bold, italic, or underline styling
-
Adjust alignment (left, center, or right)
-
Format your content with headings, bullet points, or links
💡 Tip: Use rich text formatting to make your lessons engaging and easy to follow.

Step 3: Save and Continue
Once you’ve finished adding and formatting your text, click Save and Next to continue.
🎉 That’s it! You’ve successfully created text-based self-paced content — your clients can now read, interact with, and mark it as complete directly from their dashboard or the Cohere app.
